WEEKLY NET GUIDELINES

FOR USE AFTER APR. 1, 2024

7:55 PM: The West Central Ohio District 3 Amateur Radio Emergency Service Net will begin in 5 minutes. All Licensed Amateur Radio Operators are welcome and encouraged to participate. All stations please stand by. This is (GIVE YOUR CALL SIGN).

8:00 PM: This is __________(GIVE YOUR CALL SIGN ALPHANUMERICALLY and PHONETICALLY) located in (_____________ _ COUNTY) assuming the District 3 ARES call sign KD3WCO, KILO DISTRICT THREE WEST CENTRAL OHIO, calling to order the regularly scheduled meeting of the West Central Ohio District 3 ARES Net as directed by the District 3 Emergency Coordinator.

This net meets on the first, second, fourth and fifth Wednesdays of each month at 8 o’clock PM local time on the 145.110/224.160 Repeater with a PL of 67.0 Hz.

On the third Wednesday of each month it meets on the alternate 146.820 Repeater with a PL of 77.0 Hz

This is a DIRECTED NET and ALL traffic must go through NET CONTROL. Stations with emergency traffic may break the Net at any time by stating “BREAK, BREAK” and your call sign. AT THIS TIME ARE THERE ANY STATIONS WITH EMERGENCY or PRIORITY TRAFFIC. (Pause for 10 seconds)

The purpose of this net is to train Amateurs in proper net operations and to share ARES related information. We encourage all Licensed Amateurs to participate to acquire a better understanding of net operations for times of disaster or general need of the public. You do not need to be a member of the ARRL or any other local or national organization to participate in this net.

I will now take Check-ins. When checking-in, please give ONLY your call sign –– ALPHANUMERICALLY and PHONETICALLY—using the STANDARD PHONETIC ALPHABET and the County in which you are currently located.

Check-ins will be taken by county. When checking-in, please state if you have traffic or announcements, state if you are short time, if you are not checking in short time and you need to leave the net prior to the end of the net please inform Net Control. District Emergency Coordinator, County Emergency Coordinators, Assistant Emergency Coordinators, and Net Manager please identify yourself when checking-in.
