{"id":40,"date":"2010-08-04T00:00:14","date_gmt":"2010-08-04T04:00:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ohd3ares.org\/wordpress\/?p=40"},"modified":"2010-08-04T00:00:14","modified_gmt":"2010-08-04T04:00:14","slug":"fcc-to-allow-government-drills-without-a-waiver-as-of-september-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ohd3ares.org\/wp\/?p=40","title":{"rendered":"FCC to Allow Government Drills Without a Waiver as of September 3"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In July, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.arrl.org\/news\/fcc-modifies-amateur-rules-to-allow-participation-in-disaster-and-emergency-drills-on-behalf-of-an-e\">FCC  released a Report and Order (R&amp;O) <\/a>that amended Part 97 &#8212; more  specifically <a href=\"http:\/\/edocket.access.gpo.gov\/cfr_2002\/octqtr\/pdf\/47cfr97.117.pdf\">Section  97.113<\/a> &#8212; stating that government entities sponsoring disaster and emergency  drills will no longer need to apply for a waiver to hold these drills.  Additionally, employees who wish to participate in non-government-sponsored  drills and exercises may do so under certain conditions. Part 97 is the portion  of the Commission\u2019s rules that govern the Amateur Radio Service.
